Parlor: Kansas City Restaurant Opening September 2018

I love food. I know, that’s not unique to most carbon-based beings, but I love everything about trying new food. Double points if it’s cuisine from a place I’ve never visited. Triple points if it’s walkable in downtown KC. In other words, Parlor is my jackpot. Parlor is a new Kansas City Restaurant located in Crossroads. It bills itself as a bar with SEVEN restaurants, a “curated collection of KC’s freshest food offerings.

I had the opportunity to check out Parlor with other local social media influencers before the big opening in the coming weeks. Here’s the scoop on Parlor: There’s Sura, Karbon, Yaki Ya, Mother Clucker, Farm to Market, Vildhast, and Providence Pizzaria Co. There’s literally something for everyone– including Scandanavian street food.

My picks: Mother Clucker, which takes me back to my summer trip to Nashville and the deliciousness of Hattie B’s. Yaki Ya’s Okonomiraki, a pancake-type giant noodle with whatever toppings you’d like on top. Vildhast’s Swedish Fish soda, a sweet concoction in a deep sea blue color. In other words, I 10/10 recommend going to Parlor when it opens. Wear your comfiest pants because you will need it after trying everything on the menu.
