Keto Mulled Wine

It was a Saturday night, an overnight snowstorm left about 6” of heavy snow all over Kansas City. I wasn’t willing to go out to the bars, since I was nestled in sweatpants and the Chiefs game was on. Priorities, people.


I wanted a nice warm drink. Something I would imagine Hagrid having at Hogsmeade. Or something I would drink on a cold Alaskan night in a cabin. However, I was wary of how many carbs I wanted to add into my day. But if I came up with something that was dependent on red wine and no-sugar added beverages I could skirt by it. Thus, I invented this concoction for my Instant Pot that nets out to about 7g of carbs:

  • 1 bottle cabernet sauvignon
  • 2 shots of whiskey — I like Rieger
  • 1 can berry flavored LaCroix
  • ½ Can Diet Ginger Ale
  • 1 apple cut into quarters
  • ½ orange cut into quarters
  • 1 TBSP cinnamon
  • 1 drop stevia


Instant Pot settings: Pressure Cook on the low pressure setting for 35 minutes.
